I've opened the file and tested. It's not happening on mine though. I am using Max 2019. But I saved a copy as Max 2017. Try opening this using Max 2018.

Whenever I try and select an object or a vertex, poly, etc, the camera just flies away and I always have to press Z to come back to the model, anyone knows what's the problem? Thanks in advance!

https://gyazo.com/da59ee4462d8f0c6bad9081bbb07037d

Hi,

Is this happening in all files or just this one?

If you open a new fresh max file and create a simple object near the origin does it work normally?

If the previous test works then you need to check if your objects are too far from the origin,

And try to moving them so they are around 0,0,0

Hi,

It's a bit strange, anyway,

Maybe you can open a new Max file and use Merge to bring all your objects,

And see what happens.

Hi,

It happened when I opened it, it's a bug in the ViewCube.

To deal with this issue you have three ways:

1- Press the letter P to work in the perspective view instead of the Orthographic view.

2- If you want to keep working in the Orthographic view, press the letter P to switch to Perspective,

Then Press the letter U to switch back to Orthographic view, and this time the problem will go away.

3- Simply disable the ViewCube by clicking the "+" sign near the Viewports name, find the ViewCube

And uncheck the option: Show the ViewCube.
