I made a 3d model of a classroom I am designing for a client. I used AutoCAD Architecture and only basic tools like walls, windows, slab and a door from content browser. When linked to 3ds Max, the model has graphical glitches and some objects might become invisible when panning and rotating the scene.

How do I fix this?

I am using latest versions of the programs, latest graphics drivers (tried the latest Autodesk approved driver too, no change) and Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit

To me it looks like you have overlapping geometry. Did you somehow make a two sets (or more) of walls and windows that are sitting on top of each other?

Yeah looks fine to me. Only thing I can point to maybe it's your video drivers. Or under Customize > Preference Settings > Display drivers. Maybe try changing something there.

If that doesn't help you could try this. Make sure you read all of the instructions first.

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Good luck!

Getting back into this, since it has not been fixed in the latest versions of AutoCAD and 3ds Max. Using 2025 versions now and the problem persists. Graphics drivers are the latest available and I have no graphical issues whatsoever unless linking a dwg-file to 3ds Max.

The renderings look just fine but it makes working with the scene hard, when it has this severe graphical glitches. Going to try using Revit instead of AutoCAD Architecture, since that fits in my workflow.

Nevertheless, Autodesk should do a better job with the interactions between their own two products.

Common problem when bringing any CAD drawings into 3ds Max. Your model is very far from the origin. When brought into Max, it will experience rounding errors that make the viewport look bad. Try moving the model in AutoCAD closer to 0,0 and then see how it looks. I usually do this on a copy of the file.

I know, I know, it would be great if 3ds Max would 'suggest' a relocate before import. But that only happens if you're bringing in certain objects using Civil View.
