minutes to wait for "select by name" - "select from scene"

hello,

i don´t exactly understand whats happening when i want to select objects in the scene...

same scene saved under 2013 there is no problem.

with 2015 sp2 64 bit i have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to get objects selected with the "select by name" dialog.

i can´t work with max design 2015 like this.

display children/influences/dependants is NOT ticked.

any idea? can it be a problem of the graphics card? quadro K5000

i was no second happy with this card...since there was no more performance driver to get and they changed everything to the nitrous thing, i think game cards work much better.

thanks for any idea. i´m lost

my coworker has the some long waiting problem if she wants to open the material editor.

or if she clicks "get material" or even to close the material-browser.

if i revert to good old "selct objects" browser i can select hundrets of objects in a second.

there are also workstations in the house where the file works without delay.

so if anyone knows how to fix?

the hanging while opening the material browser is also a bit of unusual. i can move the material editor window, but the programm ui and the browser window ui is not reacting.

weird...

Try first this:

Create a new Windows user and test max with it. Then you have a "cleaned" version without any user modifications...

you´re my man jens. big thanks for the hint works like a charm !

don´t know why...maybe old scripts i installed in the very first beginning of working with 2015.

so at least i know why deinstalling and reinstalling did not had an effect 😉
