How one can make a DropDown icon on a Custom Toolbar?

Hi guys,
Hi one can make such dropdown menu on a custom toolbar?

Also I would like to delete most of the mainui toolbar.
Since deleting icons of the mainui toolbar is not allowed, I would like to copy over a the portion of it, which I would like to keep. That includes a few drop down icons and drop down fields.
Does anyone know where can I find them or how can I recreate them?

Hi,

There's a whole weeks reading here: https://help.autodesk.com/view/MAXDEV/2023/ENU/?guid=menu_manager

Open up the file called MaxStartUI.mnux (C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20** - 64bit\ENU\en-US\UI) with Notepad (or Notepad ++), and take a look inside.

Make sure you experiment with a copy of the ENU folder, and keep the main version intact.

It would seem that trying to create a custom 'Flyout' button is a world of pain:

Alternatively, I just found this Interactive Rollout Builder. While it is not really what you're looking for, perhaps you could make some custom dialogue boxes that could be handy in some way. Certainly easier than butchering the main UI code anyways.

Another option would be to instead of trying to put your custom scripts into a Flyout, and save button space on the main toolbar, you could put them into a container object instead like this:

It's a great time saver, and keeps the Standard Toolbar area clean. You can invoke it with a single button or Hotkey: https://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/list-scripts-in-folder

That last container script needs to be tweaked at bit to work with the latest version of Max. It's freeware, but just credit the original author. jb_alvardo 🙂
