I able unable to select any objects in the viewport. I've spent quite a while researching this problem and the regular reasons why this happens aren't the case for me... It only locks for one project file. If i create a new one everything works fine. It happened to me right after accidentally entering the wrong hot key. So what ever it is it's activated by a hotkey. I can create a new object but I can't move it or anything except modify it. Any idea's what It could be?

Hi,

Maybe you hit the space bar at some point? This is the selection lock toggle - check the padlock icon in the bottom toolbar.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-AF0D75B5-4CD4-463F-8B53-5DD486D3D8E0-htm.html

Hope this helps! 🙂

Daf

Maybe, the problem is that you have a selection filter. With these filter you can select only geometry, lights, cameras, or custom combos of these. You can see this option on the main toolbar.
