topic Backburner 2016 Problem in 3ds Max Forum

I have a serious problem with backburner 2016. I suspend a job that is running in backburner, for example, to restart the computer which is running backburner manager and after that I want to activate that job again and carry on with the rest of the frames that still need to be rendered. After pressing activate all frames in the "task summary" tab are gone and the project turns from yellow to white, not to green as it should, as if it were a new just submitted job.

Any Ideas on this problem?

Thanks in advance!

-Jan

Hi Jan,

I'm not able to reproduce this error in our offices, so I'm wondering if you could please submit your Backburner error logs to us for review. These will help us diagnose the issue better.

In addition, could you please clarify if you have "ignore existing frames" checked when you submit your job from 3ds Max?

Thank you very much for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Jon Bell,
Autodesk Technical Support

Maybe, you ran into the known error MAXX-24290, see: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/shading-lighting-and-rendering/backburner-2015-servers-remains-idle/m-p/6201867#M25095

Hello Jan,

As I just noted in another Backburner thread (referenced above by Jens Diemer), this is a recurrence of an earlier defect which was fixed in 3ds Max 2015, but it seems to be back. Our developers are aware of this issue and we have logged a new defect (MAXX-24290) in our database for it.

Right now, the current workaround is to delete and re-submit your jobs after rebooting (with "Skip Existing Images" checked in the Render Setup menu.)

Alternatively, some users have reported success by reinstalling Backburner as a standalone program.

Please note that I'm monitoring this issue, and if I have any further information I'll let everyone know. Thank you for your patience on this.

Best regards,
