Thanks for your answer, since I have not commited to any paticular camera do you have any recommendations for specific brands or models of cameras under $500? Thanks!

Hi, I was planning on buying a new camera for film projects as my current camera is pretty terrible and I was wondering if the Gopro Hero 4 Wide FOV is any good with 3DS Max for animating with. I've heard that because of the wide FOV lens camera tracking is pretty difficult however I don't have a choice as I plan to be filming in small, cramped areas where I need a wide FOV lens to get everything in frame. I was also wondering if there are any other setbacks that would make animating with this camera difficult. I have little money right so I can only buy one camera so I need something that is good enough for most situations. Very sorry if this post dosen't belong in this forum, if needed I can move it somewhere else. Thanks!

@Anonymous

I would strongly suggest downloading the latest version of 3ds Max and see if you can successfully replicate the settings from your camera. Recently, we added a Physical Camera object which has many of the same settings an actual camera. This should allow you to very accurately dial in all of the parameters necessary to capture your image.

As you haven't committed to any one camera yet, see if you can get sample footage to test with. I hope you find it much easier than previous versions.

Good Luck.
