Hello @silentboof,

I'd like to help you here with your viewport question. I can't say much about the rendering speed of Vray or scanline, but I can take a look at your file and see if I can solve the fading issue for you. Would it be possible for you to attach the file and any textures you may have used in it for further investigation? I greatly appreciate it.

Best Regards,

Hi guys....here is an almost realtime smoke thanks to 3ds max nitrous viewport:

https://s32.postimg.org/a4z9kj2id/Test_Smoke001.jpg

Now the question is why on earth I can not get something like this in Vray or mental or even scanline as fast as viewport?!

Well not that fast but at least with a reasonable time. Because when I hit render button, the render time drastically increases that I'll just have to cancel the render!!!

I need no GI no heavy computing no nothing! just a normal render in which I can use particle age map to define fading of the smoke....

or do you have any idea on how to get fading effect in viewport?

thanks in advance

ciao

Thanks Pyro777. It's a simple particle system. Just a normal opacity technique. Nothing special about it.
ciao

Thank you. Actually the whole thing was about the visibility track of particles. I just had to animate it. It's a little bit buggy right now but I'm working on it.
