Hi,

This is a shot in the dark but here goes.

I created a simple model in 3ds Max and applied .png images to the surface. When I try to export it with the babylon.js exporter plugin, parts of the model have disappeared.

I found out that if I had used the boolean function at all on the model whether it be subtracting or union it causes this error. If I undo the use of boolean the model exports perfectly fine.

Does anybody have a solution for this?

Many thanks,

Aaron

try to apply edit poly modifier and or convert it to editable poly first before before exporting the model

Hi. Edit Polys does in fact deform often when exported. So best way to export Boolean'ed models is to collapse them into Editable Mesh before export. Sometimes it's also needed to make all edges visible before export - but that depends of the export format and the receiving program.

I don't know the Babylon js exporter, but this might be one of those cases where all edges must be visible.

Hope it helps.

Unfortunately that didn't work either. I think I'm just going to have to re-model them without using the boolean function.

Hi,

Just to follow up, I was able to get it to work by using the ProBoolean function instead of the standard Boolean.

I am now able to cut holes and join two objects together with no issues.

Maybe this might help people in the future.

Thanks for you help.

Hi,

I was facing the same problem and this is what I did.

after using the boolean function you can go in editable poly and then hit 5 for element then select all and click and drag to create a copy of that element, remember to check the "Clone to object".

now you can delete the original model and use the copied one.

hope this helps.

as it did in my case.
