Hello!

I got error message when i open 3Ds Max 2017.

FTL: Virtual device creation failed.

MaxScript Callback script Exeption: Known system exception Address: 0xb53b3600; nCode: 0x00000000C0000005 Desc: Exception_access_violation The tread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access. Read of Address: 0x0000000000001128.

I have an student edition of 3Ds Max 2017.

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

I'd like to help you with your device creation error. This error has a few causes, and I'd like to detail them for you here. Also, if you could please list your OS and graphics card that would be very helpful. Ok, to the list:

1) First, it could be due to driver issues with your graphics card. Doing a clean reinstall of the drivers might help.

2) Your graphics card may not be supported, in which case you can try a different display driver mode within 3ds Max. Maybe try a non-Nitrous one and see if it helps.

3) Unplug any tablets or wacom devices, just to be sure it's not a driver conflict.
