I have a quite complicated model about 1GB big. After the anniversary update i see that it takes ages to do an autosave.

Almost 1 minute every 5 minutes. I am using a samsung evo SSD and i think that it was much faster before. Is there anything i can do to optimise saving times ?

I'm not a 3DS Max user but I will tell you that the Win 10 Anniversary update is causing numerous headaches in the Autodesk community and its suggested that you roll back if you still can.

Hello @alexnode,

@Mark.Lancaster is correct here. MS announced that the AU can cause problems with SSD's and freeze the computer. It seems to happen when people are installing applications to anything other than the C: drive. The fix is to remove the AU update for the time being or you can find a possible workaround here. If you never installed to anything but C:, then you may be affected by a different bug within the AU. This article may help but I can't be sure as I don't have a drive to test it on. It does relate directly to the evo however. I hope this works out for you and if you find a solution other than these, please post it here for kudos and to help future users. Thank you so much for doing so.

Sounds really bad ! Very difficult to roll back for at least a few weeks time. I have 5 render slave machines too, i am nto sure if i will have time for system reset until Christmas to be honest.

Everything is installed on C: drive.

I am working for a new project now and the problem appeared again, even with 400K polygons. I did an SSD test and i have 500 mb read and 300 mb write.

I did a test with the 10GB option and 'AS SSD benchmark' and it shows that for sequential write it starts around 300 MB/s and falls to 230 MB/s at the end.

If you'd like I can create a private folder for you to upload your file so I can investigate. You've already passed the point where you can roll back the AU. There is only a 10 day period and then it's permanent.
