Hello @Anonymous,

If you'd like I can create a private folder for you to upload the files to so I can investigate. This would be hard to help with if I didn't have a file to look at. Does it crash if you only XRef them into the scene separately?

Best Regards,

im trying to make a scene with a few xref files of 2 different characters with rigs. i made a blank 3ds max file and used the xref objects for both characters, which are in separate files. i save the scene to a file. but when i open that scene, the scene crashes max. it happens every time i try to open the file. i have tried recreating the scene on another computer, the same thing happens. im using max 2016 sp4 windows 7 & 10

do you get an error? try attaching your scene file and see if a person can help it maybe 3ds max or it maybe your computer!

Hello @Anonymous,

If you'd like I can create a private folder for you to upload the files to so I can investigate. This would be hard to help with if I didn't have a file to look at. The only guesses I can offer you are that there are bones on both rigs with the same name maybe, or controllers with the same names. Does it crash if you only XRef them into the scene separately?

no, the problem still persists. i renamed everything so they're wouldn't be any duplicate names.
