&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The main difference is support for DX11 shaders for game development. &amp;nbsp;There are some minor viewport differences but overall you should choose the one that works best for you. &amp;nbsp;Keep in mind those cards are gaming cards first and development cards second, so they are optimized for games and not 3D applications. &amp;nbsp;That being said, I use a gaming card at home for Max as well.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>strange behavior in viewport</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have still this lags and low fps in viewports, but also a strange behavior.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;if there is nothing selected I have about 22 fps, BUT if I go to sub-object mode I have about 115 fps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;seen here: &lt;A href="http://c2n.me/3FXM1gH" target="_blank"&gt;http://c2n.me/3FXM1gH&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am still on max 2016 with all SP. graphic card is a GTX 1080 and win10 pro.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;have anyone else similar problems?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks and a happy new year!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;best regards&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;manuel&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Can you please try DX9 mode for me by &lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-3D6B4C8E-8C0D-4A9C-BFB0-2463803268CE-htm.html" target="_blank"&gt;choosing a different display driver in 3ds Max&lt;/A&gt;? &amp;nbsp;Make sure you restart Max after changing it. &amp;nbsp;Thank you for trying that.&lt;/P&gt;
