Depends on what you want to do.

If you are into gamedev then I would recommend to start modding your favorite game or the closest one which has better modding support. It really helps to keep you motivated when you can see you creation come alive in a game.

Paul Steed's tutorials on custom quake3 characters got me into 3D and personally I find playing or shooting something I made much more enjoyable than rendering a shiny masterpiece for 12 hours, but for each their own of course.

Hi everyone. I'm at the beginning in 3Ds Max and even seems a common question I'd be curious where should I focus more in terms of learning. This kind of recommendation could be different over 2 years so that's why I'm asking now for such information. I'm not a totally noob.. I've modeled a few things and found out Arrimus3D youtube website to be quite.. useful, until he started to love.. Blender - I don't.

Got for a good price : Kelly L. Murdock's Autodesk 3ds Max 2020 Complete Reference

Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi, I learnt the basics myself in I think release 4? Not sure what year. Home installation, free on a magazine cover hehe.

But nowadays I'd point people towards the essential learning series' on LinkedIn Learning, (formerly Lynda).

Regards,

Hi guys - thanks for you input.

Well.. I have in plan to get an employer-level of knowledge.. so getting a job based on 3D in the future. In terms of workflow.. and required software - I don't know if anyone can really predict the future.. to focus on max, maya.. blender or.. knowing one of them at a decent level makes a smooth transition to the others.

So yeah.. I'd start with modelling, texturing & rendering. Animation chapter is for more advanced users.. so maybe in the future I can take in consideration this details. I'm also curios which are the actual trends and.. any kind of predictions are welcome.

AI Photoshop, make friends with it. Don't let it sneak up behind you.
That's my 50c prediction.

Regards
