Hi all,

I couldn't find the answer on the forum but i'm having problems regarding an animation i'm working on.

I have a stack of paper on top of each other, those need to fold from A6 to A5 etc. to A2.

Now, animating the gimbal is not the problem when the gimbal stays at the same spot. But it's necessary for me to move the gimbal to the other point of the sheet to animate it the other way around. Unfortunatly this changes the movement from the keys before. What am I doing wrong? How can I adjust this? It's doesn't work when you only control the pivot of the object during the animation.

Thanks in advance!

Best,

Remy

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community,

This might get more responses in the animation forum, I can move the thread there if you'd like. That being said, there are two main options that stand out to me. The first is to use bones to rig up the paper. The second would be to use helpers to move the verts by linking those verts to the helpers with Linked Xform. (Works with soft select, just make sure to keep the verts selected in subobject mode.)

It may be easier to suggest something with a reference, but those two options popped into my mind first thing. Would either of those work for you?

Best Regards,
