Mouse wheel zoom not working

Hello All

The mouse wheel zoom stopped working a few days ago on all Autodesk products and only Autodesk products. It works fine in every other program (word excel etc)

The only thing I can see that has changed is MS installed an update KB3211320. This update is unable to be uninstalled so I can't confirm if that is the cause. (Windows10)

Has anyone else had this issue? This is happening in 3ds Max 2014, 3ds Max 2017 and AutoCAD 2014.

Yes I did search. Neither of those topics relate to what has happened. The mouse was working correctly but stopped working. I have not changed any settings in max. Only Autodesk products are affected by the issue.

I have found a way to uninstall MS's update but it did not fix the problem.

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community,

Interesting. I have never heard of or seen anything like this before. I can only guess here some ideas about this, but that W10 update seems to have a lot of problems from disabling 2nd monitors to disabling edge. I'm seeing a lot of people having strange issues because of that update, so it may be related. Do you use any registry cleaners?

My first suggestion is to try to reset the user settings in 3ds Max, just to be safe. You can always rename the folder back if you don't see any changes there. If that fails then perhaps that W10 is somehow blocking a shared .dll that must control some mouse movements.

Maybe your user account is corrupted in Windows. Can you try making a new user and trying those applications on that new user account?

I almost never suggest it, but my next move after that would be to reinstall one of those software titles to see if that helps. Please keep me posted.

Thanks for the reply. I did not find the cause. I have now reinstalled Windows 10, Autocad and 3dsmax and all are working correctly.
