To the pont.

Size of the command panel is taking half of my screen. No use docking it to left or right size, it will minimize but still preserve this huge undesireable size when I place the mouse above.

Before you ask, Yes, I had tryed several times to decrease it's size manually by holding it's window border. No use.

Unninstalling shouldn't be neccesary, what kind of product will this be?

I appreciate the help.

you should able to double click on the control panel and it should dock back to the RT handside, and then click on the rt side two arrows will come up and you will able to decrease it that way so you can drag the control panel to the LT making it bigger or to the right making it small that the interface will let you go to

Well, as I said, I already did the docking (as shown in the attached images) but it wont allow me to drag or modify the interface size. So I'm still stuck.

Btw, I had reset the pc twice but for no avail

That's an interesting bit of information @Anonymous. Are you or @Anonymous running a custom script which possibly creates objects at some point during your project? Or was just clicking the modifier menu all that it took to do this? Was it an empty scene or an existing scene? Thanks for the info.

If you aren't running a custom script, then it's something else. Would it be possible to attach or PM me a link to one of these problem files, please?

No didnt used a scriped; only thing i can think of what could haved caused the problem,

was a lot of tabbing to UE4 editor and back to 3Ds Max for about 6 hours staigt.

It happend happend instantly, clicking on any tool tab of the command panel would resolve in that problem.

but easy solution:

- close and delet user files.

- open file and export all assets

- close 3ds

- open 3ds and create new File

- import all assets.

done

hope it helps people save time and mind 😛

Hello @Anonymous,

Ack, that sounds frustrating.

I wanted to double check that you reset the user settings. Keep in mind that uninstalling and reinstalling does not clear our your user settings, so if that is all you did then you are still using the old settings. Did you uninstall/reinstall as well as reset the settings? Thanks for the information.

It's a bit surprising that doesn't help though. The first startup should revert to a single 1 column command panel. Do you have Update1 installed? Thanks for the information.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I've had the same problem with 3DS Max 2018 just now.

What happened for me is that the solution that Tezuo had helped somewhat - from deleting the user files, export all assets, close and open 3DS and import all assets... until I tried moving Max to an external monitor. Then it was the same problem. Unplugging the external monitor did not work.

I updated my graphics driver (Nvidia - it was first released a couple of weeks back), then repeated the steps above that Tezuo and that worked. Thank you! Seems to be working so far. (Fingers crossed!)
