Hello @Anonymous,

First, I'd like to apologize that you experienced such a long delay before you got a reply here. I realize this thread is old, but I'd like to help find an answer for you. Are you still having this issue?

The reason this isn't working for you is because the object properties are currently set to "By Layer". Since the layer isn't getting the visibility track adjustments, the object is overriding its local info for the layer info. If you right click on the object and press Properties, you can check it to By Object as shown below. Please let me know if you have any questions!

The problem is with the help. It should have the change in the properties included because anyone following the directions will end up with the same problem I had.

I see @Anonymous. Does the help ask you to turn on "By Layer" on the object properties? Or, is that part of a tutorial in the help? If you can link me to it I'll start the process to get it updated. Thanks!

Best Regards,

Hello @Anonymous,

I had seen that link, I was thinking there may be another. The default for Max is "By Object" so at some point you had to manually enable that "By Layer" option. The linked help file doesn't direct users to do that.
