Trying to unwrap a model i modelled using Rhino

So I recently had to learn how to use Rhino, and for a task at school, I decided to model using Rhino, so I can learn more tips and tricks! And my plan was to export it into 3dsmax and unwrap it there, and while it sorta works, it won't let me stitch.. is there any setting I should be aware of hwen exporitng models into 3dsmax and unwrapping it there?

I'm using Rhino 7 and 3dsmax 2024!!

Show a screenshot of your mesh with modifier stack and the UVW Unwrap editor window open and the edge(s) you are trying to stitch like this:

Also, what exactly happens when you click on stitch custom button?

Apart from the stitching not working, it looks like you're model may not properly unwrapped to begin with. Normally, you unwrap the model into properly flattened UV Islands. But can you post your max file here? I would like to check the mesh and the UV Unwrapping you have done.

oh but please keep in mind that I used Rhino 7 to model the sofa and not 3dsmax or any other software!

When you imported the meshes from Rhino, they came into max as multiple small elements. I am not sure what the export dialog from Rhino looks like but either in that export dialog or in the Max import dialog (or both) , you should select "import as single mesh" or something similar to combine all of the elements into a single mesh.

But you can fix the issue easily in your current max file by selecting all of the vertices on your object and welding with a small threshold value (I first collapsed the Unrwap UV modifier on the stack you had applied to this mesh) :

Welding the verts with the threshold value above will join all of the multiple elements and now when you re-apply the Unwrap UV modifier you will be able to stich the selected edges. I verified this on your file. Let me know if you have any further difficulty or if this worked for you.
