sketchup importer get long time to import

hello there!

is there any solution to speed up importer sketchup to 3dsmax 2024. because my model from sketchup get long time to import. its take like one hour some times its freeze.

Hi,

I find that it really speeds up the import, viewport fps and structural integrity of .skp files if I use this purpose made SketchUp scene purger. That's even before trying to import into 3DSMax.

It gets rid of about 80% of the filesize in some cases.
Much quicker import.

install the latest 2024 update - they fixed this never-ending import. but don't check precise texture option

p.s. I looked at your model - the building poly count could be up to ~70% lower. and why do you need to import the greenery?

hello mate!

the promblem is still fixed . i try different method. using cleanup sketchup and update the 3dsmax to the latest update 3dsmax 2024 update 2. the problem fixed. thanks to your all guys.

Thanks for coming back with a solution, and reply. You'd be surprised the amount of people who don't, not that I mind.
I try to imagine them, using 3DSMax, happy out, problem fixed, big smile on their faces, designing stuff... 🙂

Hi all,
I know this post already has an accepted solution, but I’d like to ask something related to the topic.

Recently, I noticed that there's an object in my SketchUp scene that contains numerous duplicated or similar sub-materials, which significantly slows down the import process.

Has anyone experienced something similar or found a good way to optimize this? I'd really appreciate any suggestions or workarounds.

Disable "image quality" option in the SKP import options (make sure you are using the latest version). Also, inside SU, before export, use "instance materials to faces" command from TT Material tools.
