I just installed the latest Backburner on a Windows 10 workstation. This single workstation has the Manager running and also the Server.

On MAX2020, I created a simple animated scene using Scanline renderer (think Teapot moving from A to B) and submitted the job to Backburner. As Backburner starts the job, you can see that it starts MAX and then it throws an error and does not proceed to render any frames. It attempts to start the job again and throws the same error then I suspend the job.

Here is the error:

MAXScript ExecuteMAXScriptScript Exeception: -- No ""showProperties"" function for undefined

When I submit the same Scanline scene from MAX2024, it renders just fine using Backburner.

Just wondering if this was a known problem on MAX2020?

Thanks!

Clearly, MAX2020 was creating the render job improperly and Backburner didn't like it.

I checked the version of MAX2020 and it wasn't the latest version. I uninstalled MAX2020 and reinstalled with the latest version.

Now Backburner properly renders the MAX2020 submitted job without error.

Thanks anyway!
