I have this strange pebbled effect on a mesh I was modelling. Don't know where it came from or how to get rid of it. See image. This is supposed to be a smooth curved surface. No bump maps or anything else is applied, except for color. I've tried different UV mapping choices, no change. The only thing that changes it is I specify faceted in my material, but that is not what I want.

Anybody recognize what this is? What setting is this, or how can I turn it off?

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the community!

Can you share your file or at least part of your mesh displaying the problem, it might make it easier for others to figure out what's going on...

Just looking at your screenshot and taking a wild guess....
Maybe the edges aren't welded together?

Hi Jeff,

I think it’s topology problem. Select vertexes by numeric with 2 or less edges, if there is such delete them. Also select all vertexes and weld them with low settings wale (somethink like 0.1 or 0.01, truy few values). And Normal modifier with Unify normals on.

Maybe STL Check modifier will tell you what's wrong.

I wish you luck.
