Maxscript is only native language, but you can use python.

C# too, kind of.

Just to add to this; You can use ChatGPT to try to learn Maxscript:

I was testing this out yesterday, and to be honest, it's not that good. Maybe basic stuff, but anything advanced it usually gets wrong, and feeding the Maxscript Listener window 'errors' back into ChatGPT can only help so much.

(Unfortunately it didn't work for me, as even with a new API key, it was giving me an error saying I needed to upgrade my ChatGPT account to 'Pro', as I had used up all my credits).

It seems like the only way to properly learn Maxscript is to jump in at the deep end, and just learn it 😞

Yeah, unfortunately ChatGPT (one that is free) is notoriously bad when it comes to maxscript, it tends to use a lot of non-existent functions, trying to feed wrong number of arguments to those that do exist and even syntax might be wrong in its code.

Though it might be useful with "general direction" advice. Can help with math or logic for maxscript without exact code implementation.

Yeah, hopefully v4 will be better, but as yet I'm going to wait until I can see some evidence of it working before opting to pay for it. I wonder if its knowledge of Python is any better?
