new at Autodesk, starting up problem

Hello;

i am new, as a student, to Autodesk.

downloaded and installed 3ds max 2018, now on startup of this program i get a black rectangle on front of the program and i can`t do a thing further, suggestions on solving this?

I think that`s the welcome screen not loading correctly for some reason.

You can probably try to disable it by editing the 3dsmax.ini:

You can find this file under:

C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2018 - 64bit\ENU

Find the following entry:

[WelcomeScreen]
LaunchCount=4
ShowAtStartupExt=1

Change the following line:

ShowAtStartupExt=0

Try to start 3dsmax again.
