      <description>&lt;P&gt;Ah yes, the one you get from the Tools menu, or pressing ALT+CTRL+O,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's been many years since i used max 2013,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Well, starting from Max 2015, scene explorer is docked by default,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;And it's part of the default UI. Before max 2015 the docking feature didn't exist.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also there was some enhancements in the scene explorer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is why in my mind the Scene Explorer is the one that exists starting 2015.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sorry for the confusion! &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":slightly_smiling_face:"&gt;🙂&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Before I close this thread, I wanted to note that you can create an "old-style" Select by Name floating menu in current copies of 3ds Max &lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Create-Selection-Floater-to-bring-back-old-Select-by-Name-functionality-in-3ds-Max.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;by following these instructions&lt;/A&gt;.
