All Menu's, Dialogue's and Tabs Displaying Black

Hi all, I'm going crazy here and would love some support! I was doing a render yesterday and suddenly my 3ds Max has gone crazy!

All menu's, dropdowns, tabs, dialogues have gone completely black! Can't see a thing! I have reset the PC, I have re-installed graphics drivers, I have tried to reset the UI in Max but I can't see any of the options or tabs because they're blacked out.

I have run in Admin mode just in case, but nothing. I really don't want to uninstall because it is a nightmare to re-install all the plugins, and there must be a simpler way to fix this if it could just happen during a render session.

When I go into some menu's or settingsMain DisplayAll other applications work fine, and all other Autodesk applications are fine, only 3ds Max. I have attached a screenshot of the main UI for reference. Please help me! I'm right in the middle of a big project!

I'm running 3ds Max 2017, Windows 10 Pro

2x GTX 780 GPU's, 32 Gb RAM and an Intel Xeon 2.7Ghz Processor

I have the Nitrous drivers running, no changes have been made since installing and running 3ds Max without problems for a year now.

Hello @Andrew-Adams,

That sounds super frustrating! Lets try to figure out why your UI isn't displaying correctly.

Starting off, I found this article dealing with something very similar, maybe the answer lies in this thread.

If that isn't getting you results, can you reset your 3ds Max preferences, start the Change Graphics Mode in the Autodesk folder when you launch Max, and manually check your GPU drivers page to make sure the graphics drivers are updated? Here is a link with step by step instruction on how to do that.

Thanks for the reply! I had seen that thread you mentioned before i posted, and i tried the suggestiin but nothing worked.

I have also manually checked the drivers for tge GPU and everything is fully up to date.

I cant figure this out! I an so frustrated!

You could try to see if the user settings somehow got corrupt, there's an article about that process here:
