Hi,

Which version of Max? And, do you have any 3rd party mouse software running that might be preventing access to rewriting mouse buttons?

Regards,

I have 3ds Max 2024.2.1 Update and I don't think I have any except logitech options app for mx master 3 mouse.

PS: this happens without changing anything in the customize user interface, just open and close

Ok,

Did you try the usual ENU renaming process? Copy your existing ENU folder, with Max closed, then restart Max.

"To reset the preferences manually (English-language versions), do the following:

Ensure that 3ds Max is not running.

Open Windows Explorer and make sure hidden files/folders are visible in Windows (see How to turn on hidden files and folders on Windows).

Navigate to the following path:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20XX - 64bit\ENU

Rename the ENU folder to ENU_old.

Restart 3ds Max. When the program launches, it will create a new ENU folder with default startup settings.

To restore the old settings, delete the new ENU folder and rename the old folder back to ENU."

This process will allow you to check if something has become corrupted in your customisation folders, and it's not just a bug. If it was a bug there would be a lot of similar threads concerning this, I'd imagine.

Regards,

This also happens to me for like... 6 years on all versions. What's weird is that the changes save and work ok, but that weird message always pops up. I ignore it, but it's weird.

Best Regards,

Hi, thanks for reply. I did try to remove the ENU and same behaviour. I have also set up some environment variables and custom startup script so not sure if they have anything to do with it. Anyway it seems like it is just a pop up and does not have any effect on customize UI functionality so I will just pass this as I don't want to mess my setup trying to solve this.
