Hi,

Just an idea, but your render engine might have to be set to the correct type to view these materials. This can happen, when incompatible materials are deliberately not shown by Max, because the current render engine cannot use them.

This might be helpful: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Standard-Legacy-Materials-don-t-appear-in-3ds-Max-2021.html

This link concerns Legacy materials, but I'd say it is the same for some other 3rd Party Materials too.

:edit: seems like MaterialX via USD is available with these big name rendering engines:

Have you rebooted and tried again? If so, have you uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled it and tried again in case the install had an issue the first time? This is a common way to diagnose these kinds of issues first.

After you reinstall, and it's not there, try and ENU Reset (look it up here, lots of threads about it). Install again in a new ENU and see if it works. If not, then write back and we can diagnose more.
