I tried to solve a problem the other day and made myself a new one. What else is new? I have attached a picture for you. I have checked costumize, preferances and gimbal, and I tried ctrl+shift+X, it all looks right. I tried googling for transform gimbal, but can't seem to find the solution.

So here I am making a fool out of myself, asking you this most likely silly question 😞

I have the student version of 2018, as you can see in the picture. I find it a bit difficult to move my plane into position without the arrows.

Hi,

Well I'm just guessing and I think there are that two things you need to check:

1- Click the + sign on the keyboard repeatedly to make the axis bigger, maybe you clicked

The - sign many times by mistake.

2- Another possibility is that the pivot point, for some reason, is shifted away from the object,

So go to the Hierarchy panel, click the button labeled Affect Pivot Only, then click the Reset Pivot,

Or Center To Object

Hello @Anonymous;

Can you please check if your transform Gizmo's are on or off and their size for me? here's how:

-Go to Customize > Preferences > Gizmos

-At the very top - left, you'll see Transform Gizmos "On" button. You'll also find the "size" parameter at top - right.

Default Size value should be 30'ish.

If everything's fine here, what @miledrizk mentioned about pivot point might be the issue.

Keep me updated please.

Kind regards;

I have tried all your solutions, and it's no change I'm afraid. I have attached the screens from preferences and pivot point screen.

kgokhangurbuz as well

This is strange! but anyway try this:

1- Close 3DS Max

2- Go to: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20xx - xxbit

3- Rename the folder called ENU to something else like ENU.old

4- Restart Max

Note: AppData is a hidden folder, so you need to enable show hidden files and

Folders from the Control Panel
