Hi,

the sistem worked fine for three years so it shouldn't be a problem.

It must be some script somewhere that wasn't cleaned up.

I basically use 3d max + vray with scripts floorgenerator and multitexture.

A few months ago I purchased some 3d models on CGTrader site an since then the problems started.

Maybe it's a file that runs a script that causes trouble.

I also disabled in 3d max that files cannot run scripts but since I Delete the ENU file before run 3d max this option get lost everitime i close the program.

Probably the only solution is to clean the sistem of any autodesk file and make a clean install again.

My specs are:

Win 10

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X

GPU: Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000

RAM: 64 GB

Regards, Aljosa

Hi, When i start 3d max a script controller launches that prevent me to start the program. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3d max 2021 but the scripts when reinstalled stays the same with the same installation date as the previous ones. So, how can I uninstall 3d max completely to have a clean installation?

Thanks

Hello @aljosagif,

When 3dsmax uninstalls, it leaves behind your user settings, and any 3rd party additions to 3dsmax. So, if this problem comes from a script from Scripspot or some plugin installed, unless you installed into a new location you're just getting the problem back because the 3rd party file never left. Usually any errors come with some kind of message, which is key to understanding your particular problem.

You might have luck resetting your user settings, which isn't the same as reinstalling. This link should help. If that doesn't do it, there's some kind of script or plugin that was installed that is causing the problem, and the name of it should be in the error message. (Hard to say without a screenshot of what you're seeing.)

Best Regards,

Hello,

I have uninstalled Autodesk Creative suite 2021 completely and manually deleted all Autodesk folders (program files, app data, users, etc.) on the computer. Then reinstalled it. Now everytime that I start 3d max at the end of the startup crashes without any warning. Then when I rename the ENU file it works normally untill i close the program. Then repeat the process again everytime that I run 3d max.

What are your hardware specs? Sounds like maybe your viewport is crashing or something. What kind of GPU are you using? Do you meet the minimum requirements for 3dsmax?

I see. If you do go that route, make sure that you go to the location where 3dsmax was installed and delete the folders left behind. Those would be any 3rd party scripts that didn't get seen by the uninstall process. Likely one of them is causing your problem.

Otherwise, some clues can probably be gathered from the script controller message. does it name the controller? or perhaps the path?
