Thanks. Tried all suggestions, including changing graphics mode to nitrous software. System was fine on monday. Meets all specs.

When I open max 2019 and look at task manager, It says max is using 900 MB of physical memory. It is an empty scene.

When I do work on a scene the saves take forever, even for a small scene. Summary info shows there is nothing in the scene upon opening. How can I fix this?

Hi,

Try resetting your user settings to see if that helps:

1- Close 3DS Max

2- Go to: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20xx - xxbit

3- Rename the folder called ENU to something else like ENU.old

4- Restart 3DS Max

Now a new ENU for will be created.

If this doesn't help, you can close 3DS Max, delete the new ENU folder

And rename the old one ENU again and restart Max. The reason why you might

Want to go back to the old ENU folder is that when you rename it and Max creates a new fresh

One, you'll lose your custom UI configurations and your installed 3rd party

Macroscripts if you have any.

Finally, and before you do all that, check your system to see if you meet the minimum requirements

When it comes to free disk space or physical memory as mentioned here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Autodesk-3ds-Max-2019.html

If nothing works, try changing the Graphics Mode to see if it's a video card problem:

Go to Customize menu, Preferences, Viewports tab, click the Choose Driver button

And from the drop-down menu choose a different option than the current one,

You'll need to restart Max after each choice.

If this helps, maybe you'll need to update your graphics card driver,

If it doesn't help, set it back to the recommended option.
