I forgot how to install scripts in 3ds max, can you please remind me?

It depends but the scripts with the simplest installation/running method, just need dropping in the viewports.

You can also run scripts by clicking on the Scripting/Run Script menu command.

Scripting/Open Script... then running the script from the Script editor is another method.

Some scripts have proprietary installers. They do everything automatically.

Other than that there are script folders in which some scripts require you to place them in manually.

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2024\scripts is one of the script folders.

There is also a Startup scripts folder. When you place something in this folder, it initiates upon startup. We don't prefer to place scripts here unless it is specifically required by the script.

Running the script not necessarily starts it to do what it's gonna go. Just adds it to the appropriate menu, toolbar, quad menu etc. categories.

Then you have to Click the menu command : Customize/ Customize User Interface,
choose the appropriate or your preferred choice of placement for the initiating point (As a toolbar button or a menu command...)
Then you have to find the correct category and place in the list of commands, where the script added itself to.
Drag and drop it to an empty spot in the Toolbar or in a place between some menu commands. Where you like.

May be the documentation of the scripts help for any custom installation method.
