Good day,

I'm experiencing a problem with 3ds max 2016 vray 3.4 file.
The space between the 2 faces of a certain model is 1,25 cms, when I rendered the object it seemed as the faces are overlapped.
I changed the value of secondary ray bias but with the same result unfortunately.

Is there any solution for this problem?
Check out the attached photo, The overlapped faces are those included in the circle.
Thanks i advance.

i don't see any overlapping faces on the image you have posted. can you render another image, make it in higher resolution and repost it here...
Thanks

Ok, It's my fault Um sorry I misexplained my problem.
The problem is that I created a material blended with another and the latter is masked with vray dirt.
The object is cuboid-shaped editable poly (tabletop) which is 5.5cms high

I had to inset 2 opposed faces with value 1,25cms then to bridge the inner resulted polys as in the previous photo (which was in the viewport not rendered)
Now check out the new attached photo, The brown materials represents the base material and the white is the one masked with vraydirt

before bridging, the materials are paced correctly.

After bridging, Something wrong happened with the materials, you'll find that the white color is in the edges and center not only the edges as before.

and the faces are 1.25 cms apart.

So, what's wrong with this object?

you need to remap and or reapply UVW Map.

can you share the table model, the one after you bridge the surface... so we can guide you.

Here it is the object with the problem.
Note: the white vray dirt effect is to show you where is the problem in the render
Also, when you disable the uvwmap and the 2nd editable poly modifiers you'll fund the obj before bridging.
Thanks so much for your great efforts to help 🙂 🙂

go to your subobject selection, select polygon, select the table top surface right click then select flip normal

dont forget to select again the edit poly on modifier to terminate selection

I'll try it but just one question please, why do I should flip the polys in this case, shouldn't be the object on its correct poly face in all cases??

Non way... NO way,Sir....

Ok, I deleted the inner polys to solve the problem because this table gonna make me shift my career 😄 😄

But I wonder how could I deal with it next time in case I need the polys.

Thanks so much Sir, you helped a lot 🙂 thanks for your time and great efforts 🙂 🙂
