topic Get 3ds max illumination and Alpha vert channels through alembic? in 3ds Max Forum

Hello,
I've been struggling with alembic workflow from houdini to max. I'm dealing with multiple vert color channels, and multiple uvs sets. I've managed to get most channels to transfer to max correctly. All i have left is getting the Alpha, and Illumination vert channels.

I've been successful just naming my vert color attributes in houdini and they just work when imported to max. For example vector attributes “ch05” and “ch09” exported from houdini load in correctly to channel 5 and 9 in max.

illumination and alpha are channels -1 and -2 in max. You cant name them that in houdini. I know that i can put that info in a temporary color channel and copy to the correct channel in max, but it would be nice not to have to do that.

is it possible to have alpha and illumination data transfer to the correct channels automatically with alembic?
