I used to have it in my signature - got wiped out when they changed forum software I guess. Just added it back in.

Click on your name up in the left side of top menu > Go to My Site Preferences. In the first tab (Personal) you can fill in your signature that will appear with each post.

FWIW - I loaded 2 instances of Max and began rendering 2 scenes simultaneously - my system was not happy and had the same issue you have. It was just too much for my system - it did respond but took a minute or 2 to do so.

Daf

You should be able to stop/cancel from the Render Progress Window. It should come up regardless of renderer. Are you not getting that window?

No i am not. I cant even pull up max typically with alt tab if other programs been triggered.

Use to be able to just hit escape and the dialog box to cancel came up.

Is this a performance issue? If you visit the task manager during a render and check both the performance and process tab - is Max over taxing the CPU or ram usage? Is there another program running in background that is using enough CPU/ram to cause Max to struggle?

I've had the same issue before - it was a system resource issue for me. What are your system specs?

Daf

Could be i suppose.

I typically have two sessions open at a time.

I will look at the cpu and ram usage next time. Good suggestion

64 bit 32.

That's a pretty big load on both ram and cpu - the 29% is the captured cpu load - the spikes are much higher. Still seems like a resource issue to me. With both scenes open/rendering ... try stopping one - are you now able to use the interface?

Is this something you used to be able to do but stopped recently? Installed any new software lately? In the processes tab - any other resource hogs at work?

Other than that ... not sure what else it could be.

Daf
