    <description>&lt;P&gt;If you don't want to use extrude you could go to the front view and do a window select to get all the vertices along the top edge and then move them up.&amp;nbsp; If you want more polys, try adding a Turbosmooth modifier.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;You will need to add more edges to the object before the extrusion if you want it to have more polys, but you will also need to make sure that added geometry is uniform.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I would say your best bet is to create the new, concentric geometry as you have in the image, as a separate object, and then us &lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-2E376179-6C96-4F7A-88D5-7AB2ABF20632-htm.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;the Attach tool&lt;/A&gt; to combine the two objects.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
