Hello everyone,

I have been trying to get the 3ds Max asset library to work on my new build workstation, but yet without result. The installation goes fine, but once i start the app itself i keep getting the "The internal http server failed to start, reason: One or more errors occured."

I have some troubleshooting skills but i cant seem to get my head around this one. There are numerous things i have tried untill now, but i'm currently out of options. The things i've tried ( not in order of appearance 🙂 )

- renamed the %localappdata%/Autodesk/3ds Max Asset Library folder to a backup

- uninstalled / reinstalled the entire app, did a registry clean in between and manually cleaned up some leftovers from the prev install.

- i went through the library install folders to find some clues and noticed the AssetLibrary.exe.config file. It seems some keys get set :

<add key="serverAddress" value="http://localhost:9023" />
<add key="AssetStoreAddress" value="https://assetstore.3dsmax.autodesk.com" />

- When i went into system logs, i noticed some event ids with a warning on DNS retrieval of https://assetstore.3dsmax.autodesk.com -> apparantly this url doesnt exist anymore, so hence the warning in event log.

- Tried to connect on localhost:9023 & 127.0.0.1:9023 : seems there's no service running on that port atm. Not sure if this gets started when you launch the app, or if its a system service which runs as soon as the system gets booted.

- I manually installed Sqlite3 just to make sure it was running

- Did a thorough reset of file/folder permissions of my admin / user accounts.

Im running Windows 10 PRO v.1809 ( 17763.864 ) & Max 2018 / 2020

Anyone able to get me going ?

kind regards
