Hi,

Try the container feature, if you don't have the toolbar already on your main UI, add it

1- Select the objects and click the Create Container From Selection

1-create container

2- You'll a Box helper create inside the viewport if you drag it around all objects will

Move like if they're a group. The Box in this state is opened that means you can select and manipulate

Individual objects manually. But before doing anything we need to save this container to disk,

So click the Save Container Button

2- Save Container

3- You can close the Container so that you cannot manipulate individual objects. In the Image below

You see the two buttons responsible for the Open and Close container

3-Open / Close container

4- keep your container open and do whatever you want with your object.

5- At any time you want your objects back to their state when you created the Container,

Click the Inherit Container button and point to the saved Container on your disk.

5- Inherit

Important Note: if at any point, you closed the container, the saved Container will be updated to reflect

The new state. So keep it open after you create the container in the state that you like to go back to.

There are many features that you can explore yourself now, it's a powerful tool.

Another basic question:

How can I transform Objects on a layer (lets say only for example it is a complete house) with lots of subobjects, groups, objects etc.?

In Maya I would put it in a group folder and aplly all transformations to the group and can any time modify or reset them..

In Max I did not find a way until now...

Thanks for help

I know, but I guess this is destructive.

I could not animate this and could not reset to the original state.

I am looking for something like a XForm modifier, but to apply it to a layer, regardless what is inside that layer....

Sounds great, containers are a new topic for me (something Maya is missing:))

I will examine them once. Thanks
