topic 3ds max files that I can no longer open after moving to another hard drive. in 3ds Max Forum

I had problems with a hard drive, SSD and I moved all the documents to another SATA hard drive. Type files. max greater than 1 gb I can no longer open them, use them, neither directly from that hard drive nor if I copy them to another hard drive before I try to open them. What solution would I have to reuse these files.

this is more of a data corruption issue not really a 3ds Max issue

nothing in 3ds max will recover files

you will need to find backups or use a 3rd party data recovery software to try and recover the files

if this doesn't work those files are gone

Interestingly, I copied a folder with an entire project. Scenes were saved incrementally, and in the same copy session, files in that folder, smaller than 1GB are usable, larger than 1GB are no longer available. The same rule applies to all files of this size and from other folders.
