3DS MAX not responding upon startup

So when I load up 3Ds max (2021 newest version) it will load forever until I click something random, then it completely crashes. I've tried updating to the newest version and tried making a new EU folder. This can be related to downloading Vray since I've done it recently but it has been working a while after the instalment.

what is your computer specs

how much ram do you have

how much hard space do you have on your hard drive?

did 3ds max work before you installed Vray?

Yes, 3DS Max did work a little while after the Vray instalment.

Also, the lighting in the viewport has been very buggy, though, I'm not sure if that is relevant.

as vray maybe the cause of it i cannot help you because it's a third party software, you would need to go to the Chaos Group website and see what they say.

can you upload a scene and maybe someone else can have a look at it, maybe @10DSpace @leeminardi i think they are the two big hitter on here that deal with vray don't hold me to that

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Irishman, but I do not have Max 2021 installed and installation/computer specification issues are really not my forte. (My experience is confined to a single computer). But if Vray is a possible cause here, basic troubleshooting step would be to uninstall it to see if Max 2021 is working OK on its own. But I would test max without Vray for a lot longer than a few minutes (multiple scenes, renders with scanline and arnold, check out the scene lighting issue that was mentioned, multiple sessions with max to be more sure that Max 2021 is really OK before installing Vray again.) If Max 2021 is working OK on it's own and Vray is the culprit I think @jma11538 will need to post on the CHAOS forum. Sorry, but I don't have any particular insight on this one beyond the basic troubleshooting.

Sorry for the late reply, I wanted to update you on that I found the solution! Apparently, it was a driver issue so all I had to do was to update my driver. but thank you kindly for your help nevertheless.@irishman_team_kilber @10DSpace
