Hello,

Would there be any chance I can cut the object that is connected to biped and skinned.

I was trying to cut a monster into two parts for dying animation. After I cut the monster with Procutter, it becomes different object and I cannot use biped anymore. It becomes totally different.

Is there any other way to cut it?

Thank you in advance.

KJ

@Anonymous

No you cannot cut your entire rig because Biped and Skin will not survive that process. But you can (and should):

1. Create a duplicate of your monster mesh then separate it into the cut pieces you want

2. Separately rig the cut up monster with either bones or a separate biped rig. Although the pieces are separate pieces they start as together and should be indistinguishable from the original mesh.

3. Then for your animation, you render out frames from first rig to point of slice

4. then hide first rig and use second rig from that frame forward for rendering out rest of animation of the dying pieces.

I think this is the best way with greatest control over the quality of results.
