I keep getting start-up errors, this happened right after I un-hid the turbosmooth modifier to see the animation, specifically when I tried to cancel the render to see if the disfigured model is just a glitch or if it would be visible in the final renders (and the issue was visible in the render)

This is sort of two issues at once, the first issue was that the 3D model kept getting disgifured when I tried to play the animation with the turbosmooth modifier on, and the second one is the start-up issue.

I attached 3 screenshots.

It looks like your startup menu has become corrupted. I'd try resetting the ENU (search the forum for lots of threads about this easy task). Caution, you might lose some interface customizations if you don't take steps to save them. You can find help on the forum with that also.

Also, after Max fails and is closed, open 'Task Manager' to make sure the thread has closed and is gone. I've found that sometimes the failed thread is left running and it caused start issues.

If this solves your problem, then get your interface customizations back in place and then save your ENU and rename it and hold it somewhere. Then if Max misbehaves again, just replace the current ENU with your saved version and you'll have any customizations that you had to redo to the interface, and Max will be running a "known good" ENU again.

Hello,

I tried their solution, but unfortunately it didn't work simply because my
installed files were a bit of a mess since I didn't have the cleanest
uninstalling previously. However, I did end up uninstalling the 2021
version and installing the 2020 version because I've been facing a lot of
issues with the 2021 version and I don't want anything to come in the way
of my projects.

All is appreciated, regardless.

Best regards,
H.
