Hi, I have been using max 2020 but have installed 2021. Until I migrate to 2021 I want all the max files to open in 2020 by default but they open in 2021.

I've set the default program to be the 3dsmax application in the 2020 install folder but, it always opens 2021. Is it possible to change this?

Thanks, N

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but I highly recommend NOT double-clicking a file to open it. This goes for many things, not just 3ds Max. In many cases, including Max, you can open the software and then drag and drop the file from Windows Explorer to open it.

That's exactly what I'm doing but, out of interest why should I not double click to open a file - I've never heard that before.
