Getting error and cannot snap to certain areas in my model

Hi,

So when I'm drawing a spline and using snaps, the snap seems to shoot off to infinite.

The first image shows where I CAN snap.

This image shows where I CAN'T snap and the coordinates show -nan(ind)m

Nothing is frozen in the layers and I've already did a fresh re-installed of MAX thinking that would fix it.

Any help would be great.

Also If I move any vertex in that space with snaps on, the selection shoots off into infinte space and disappears with same coordinates as above

I've outlined roughly what I'm going to call the VOID. Anywhere in here when I have snap on has that coordinate error -nan(ind)m and I cant snap. I don't even have to hover over an object. In empty space it gets that error.

*Edit - Update- edge and grid snapping works but Vertex and face snapping doesn't in this area
