&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;First, make sure to save your UI settings.&amp;nbsp; &lt;EM&gt;Customize -&amp;gt; Save Custom UI Scheme.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/EM&gt; &amp;nbsp;(You might even back up your user settings entirely (ENU).&amp;nbsp; I'm not sure if the following will mess or disable custom toolbars.)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Next, go to &lt;EM&gt;Customize - Custom UI and Defaults Switcher&lt;/EM&gt;.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Scroll down the default settings to Max.legacy.&amp;nbsp; That should make your default material type the legacy material for all new scenes, unless you have a custom Maxstart.max file.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Importing an object with standard material</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hey guys, Im having troubles importing object into my scene and Max 2022 changing the materials from standard to physical material.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is there a way i can stop max from changing the materials to physical materials and leaving them as standard?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for your reply&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/248586"&gt;@Diffus3d&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;, I've followed what you have said, but it still imports with physical materials instead of legacy standard materials, as you can see in the screenshot.&lt;BR /&gt;Is there anything else I can do?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I suppose you can try the &lt;A href="https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/3DSMax-Manage-Scenes/files/GUID-F7863988-D3A3-47AD-9436-C4EFD023975D-htm.html" target="_self"&gt;scene converter&lt;/A&gt;, perhaps it can convert to standard materials.&amp;nbsp; Any luck?&lt;/P&gt;
