I just need to put it out.

3ds Max, Autodesk/discreet baby software. I have been using 3ds max since 1996 but I am very close to just ditch Autodesk in everyway.

Why?

Autodesk aquires Alias (Maya) in 2006 - Monopolize 3d industry

Softimage in 2008 - Dead

Naiad fluid simulation in 2012 - (implements it in Maya only, 3ds max users keep their crappy fluid simulatior )

Golaem in 2024 - (Again maya users only, 3ds max users don't even get a populate update right?)

How about Ai development, in your blog I did not see a single update with Ai for 3ds max, Maya gets an assistant, sketchup gets renders but 3ds Max?? screw that.

I used to teach 3ds max, but if anyone asks today what software I recommend, I will say - Maya if you want a professional software or Blender, in my case I'm not going to waste time learning Maya after 29 years using 3ds max, but learning blender is an option.

Almost every 3ds max blog and blogger complaints about the same, 3ds max is not providing the same quality of updates as all other competitors.

An example of how bad it is, in the last update the most talked feature was... create a rectangle with 3 points. Thank you for that Autodesk.
