Did you disable the "Affect shadows" option in the glass & liquid vray material refraction settings?

Hi everybodies !

I'm trying to render a whisky glass with caustic. So i got caustic on my glass but not on the liquid (like you can see on the photo). I tried to changes the setting but nothing ...

Someone have an idea ?

Thanks you

Regardless of renderer, chances are your refraction depth is too low for the rays to penetrate the final glass layer which breaks the caustics but allows for the liquid coloring to come through. (Totally guessing).

Also, before getting too far here, get some HDRI reflections on there as it will change the look of things so much and caustics are often time consuming.

Best Regards,
