Render Map option on material editor is greyed out

Hey, I'm very new to 3ds Max, I've only had it for around a week and I'm looking to to export my material as an unwrapped texture. I used the render to texture tool but that rendered it with the lighting, so I had a look and people suggested using the render map function on the material editor. I've gone to use it and the render map option is greyed out. I have no idea why though 😕

My renderer settings are on default as far as I'm aware and I haven't messed with anything else

Solved using bake to texture instead of render to texture.
