Preference Setting Issue

I'm using 3DS Max 2022.

I have an issue with preference setting menu.

Whenever i change any option under preference settings it works, but when i restart 3ds max it doesn't work. I need to save the same setting again and again. ( Like : if i deselect object outline option and when i restart max it shows automatically selected. )

I'm tried of doing this thing all the time.

Please help

Do you have Save UI Configuration on Exit option checked in Preferences dialog?

Yes i have already checked the option, but it stills happens the error😣

Hi @deepakaspam

I suspect you have V-ray installed, this should be resolved in 3ds Max 2022.1, a script has also been shared to fix it for 2022.0: 3ds max 2022 fail to save settings

thanks for your reply, but it still not working out.

I'm still facing the same issue again after try the max script solution from your side.

Can you have any other solution?

I'm using 3DS Max 2022, Corona 7, V-ray 5.1 & Windows 11.

Hi @deepakaspam,

Here a few more suggestions:

confirm if it is an issue with V-Ray by uninstalling it
update V-Ray to the latest update
the script shared will only work once if not put in the startup script folder, if it worked once but not after, it is important to place it there so it is run in every session
update you 3ds max to 2022.1 or later versions
restore your user setting if case they are corrupted, the thing to do when 3ds Max start behaving strangely: How to reset 3ds Max user preference settings back to default

On my Windows 10 machine I have to run 3dsmax as administrator to setup menus and things or it won't save. So I run as admin and get everything how I like it, then run normally form there. If you run as admin, do the changes stick?
