I am using 2016 as well and I have the cloth modifier in my stack. One easy way to make sure you have it is select your model in the viewport and hit the "x" key and a small search window should pop up. Now type "Cloth" in the window and see if it comes up in there. If it does then Great and if not there may be a problem with your installation of 3dsmax and you may need to do a repair or re-install.

-dave

Hi,

I'm been using Max just over a year now and I've never had this problem. I just went to set up a Cloth Modifier from the Modifier list, and it isn't their.

To my astonishment I opened up an older version of Max, and the cloth modifier is there! - But the lay out of the modifiers is clearly different.

I've attached an image of the two versions.

I'm assuming i that it has something to do with the UI, but I don't want to go and mess anything up (further).

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Many Thanks,

Michael
